Maisons Glenn Anna
Hospitality and the pleasure of receiving
In the small village of Sainte-Anne-d'Auray, the Glenn Anna Houses combine within their three establishments the pleasure of welcoming each visitor, passing through these lands of southern Brittany, for family holidays, getaways for two or evening stopovers during business trips.
From these hotel-restaurants near the Gulf of Morbihan, there emerges a considerate and warm atmosphere distilled by the two generations of the Larvoir family, passionate about gastronomy and cultivating in this village not far from the sea between Lorient and Vannes, the happiness of welcome, with simplicity and kindness, as one receives “at home” to experience sincere moments.
Three places located a few meters away, and the same desire to exchange and share the love of the region and the pleasures of the table, during a Breton getaway between gourmet pleasures, relaxation and tranquility.
The charm of houses family in Brittany
Stories of passion, of sharing, delicacies
Seduced by a charming building which housed the old coaching inn in the heart of the village, Françoise and Jean-Luc laid the first stones of the Glenn Anna Houses in 1983: she at reception, he in the kitchen, in a few years made this traditional restaurant, an unmissable gourmet place with 3 Michelin forks and a few rooms, to allow restaurant customers to prolong the pleasure of a stay in Breton land.
But this charming hotel-restaurant is also the couple's family home, where their three children were born and grew up: Sandrine, Claire and Alexandre...
Tracing their own path, embracing careers in the restaurant business, the two eldest are returning to their roots, in the family establishment.
In 2004, Sandrine and her husband Nicolas joined the Auberge where they worked with Françoise and Jean-Luc, before Claire and her husband Julien followed the same path.
An opportunity in the village offered Sandrine the possibility of creating the Auberg’Ine in 2015, a 2-star hotel and bistronomic restaurant, with Nicolas as chef. The same year, Jean-Luc gave the reins of the Auberge kitchen to Claire and Julien and moved to Tokés du 20, Place Nicolazic a few steps away, in a wine and food cellar to share his love of wine and good products, in all simplicity.
Within these two hotels and three restaurants in Southern Brittany near the Gulf of Morbihan, which make up the Maisons Glenn Anna, this close-knit and passionate Breton family maintains the sincere and caring family spirit which marked the creation of the Hostel.
The considerate and warm atmosphere common to the Auberge, the Auberg’Ine and the Tokés du 20 combines with the authentic atmosphere of these three places dedicated to gourmandise and open to sharing.
They met during a summer season in Carnac: Françoise, a student, decided to follow Jean-Luc, chef, to Le Mans and then join the hospitality profession in restaurants and hotels.
These two Bretons, from Vannes and Lorient, fell under the spell of the old village post house which became their restaurant, with six rooms to allow passing epicureans to stay.
Passionate about good, sourced and local products and wines, the Chef won three Michelin forks and gave the establishment a new reputation.
Personally and entirely involved in the search for suppliers and winegrowers, he delivers generous and gourmet dishes, frank and full of character, in his image, while Françoise receives with thoughtfulness and ensures to offer a professional welcome, always sincere and warm, since the first day at the Inn.
In 2015, Jean-Luc handed over the kitchen to his daughter Claire, then his son-in-law Julien, settling in Tokés du vin, a place with a rascally spirit that resembles him.
He nevertheless keeps a close eye on the establishments and remains in charge of exchanges with the winegrowers and of all wine matters, a great family passion.
Sandrine, the eldest in the family, chose oenology and the south of France to follow her BTS, during which she met Nicolas Legrand.
With their diploma in hand, they came in 2004, during a summer season, to lend a hand to the Auberge, and then settled there.
Nicolas, a gourmet from a family who loves cooking, then discovered the profession from Jean-Luc, who trained him.
The young man found his place in this family establishment where he gained experience and obtained his CAP as a free candidate before taking charge of the kitchens of the 2-star Auberg'Ine hotel and bistronomic restaurant, where he has worked since 2015 , alongside Sandrine, who continues the tradition of hospitality and welcome found within the Maisons Glenn Anna, hotel-restaurants in Southern Brittany.
She first obtained a general BAC, then without hesitation moved towards a work-study BEP in cooking.
After working in several restaurants, Claire joined Régis Marcon's three-star establishment, where she met pastry chef Julien in the kitchen, then in the store.
The young chef from Auvergne follows Claire to Brittany, first to Rennes, in a shop, before settling at the Auberge, the family establishment, between Lorient and Vannes.
Alongside Jean-Luc, he worked in the kitchen with Claire until 2015: following the opening of Tokés du 20 and the departure of Jean-Luc, the couple took over the reins of the kitchen, then Claire gradually joined the reception of the 3-star hotel and the room of the gourmet restaurant, retaining the role of developing its refined menus, with her husband, and of being the perfect ambassador at the restaurant table to the gourmet customers who pass through the door of the Inn.
